The Tourism Authority of Thailand and the Department of Health inspected the SHA certified establishments to emphasize the confidence in using standard-certified service and the importance of strictly following the public health safety measures. #ThailandTravelwithSHA
On January 12, 2021, the committee of hygienic safety inspection of the Amazing Thailand Safety and Health Administration (SHA) project had inspected the SHA certified establishments and encouraged them to strictly comply with hygienic measures to build confidence in customers. The inspection was led by Dr. Suwanchai Watthanayingcharoenchai, the director-general of the Department of Health under the Ministry of Public Health, Dr. Sarawutthi Boonsuk, the deputy director-general of the Department of Health under the Ministry of Public Health, Mr. Yuthasak Supasorn, the TAT Governor, and Miss Thapanee Kiatphaibool.
There are 2 inspection criteria: 1) committee inspection and 2) voice of the customer (VOC), in order to improve the establishment and encourage them to comply with the SHA standards, and reduce the spread of COVID-19. The committee inspected the establishments in restaurant and diner type which ranks third as the most SHA-certified establishment. The committee inspected Samsen Villa Restaurant (Ratchaphruek branch) who was awarded the SHA certificate number A0012 and SEE FAH Restaurant (Siam branch) who was awarded the SHA certificate number A0614.
The Amazing Thailand Safety & Health Administration (SHA) is a project under the cooperation of the Ministry of Tourism and Sports by TAT and the Ministry of Public Health by the Department of Disease Control of Thailand, Department of Health, and the Health Service Support Department, including government sectors and private sectors involved in the tourism industry. The project aims to encourage establishments in the tourism industry to prepare and improve their workplaces to comply with the new normal measure, in order to improve the tourism industry standards along with the hygienic measures.
The SHA standards are equivalent to a certificate that represents tourism industry entrepreneurs’ readiness in improving their products and services to comply with the hygienic measures, which is a necessary factor in preventing the spread of COVID-19. The core of the SHA standards is the public health measures that will build confidence in customers and service recipients. Nowadays, there are more than 8,000 SHA certified entrepreneurs all over Thailand.
